Transition Your Skin Care Routine From Summer to Fall

It’s time to swap out lightweight summer staples for a few options.

You’re probably out here searching for secrets on how to transition your summer skincare routine to the perfect fall skincare routine. But, let me tell you, a perfect skincare routine is the one that works for you. You should always know that a routine that works for other people does not mean it will also work for you. But of course, you can undergo trial and error to your routine — to see what works or not — if you haven’t visited your esthetician or even haven’t even gone to a skincare spa ever since.

Autumn brings cooler weather (sweater weather!) and a drop in humidity, which makes for dry, stale air and even drier skin. A dermatologist in New York said, that if you mix dry heat from radiators, then it’s a setup for skin disasters like eczema and dry, itchy skin. With that being said, this season is also a perfect time to reassess your go-to skin-care routine. In general, it’s always great to approach your skincare seasonally. It’s minor tweaks that can make a major difference.

Here are some tips for you:

1. Try a thicker moisturizer
Lightweight, oil-free moisturizers you’ve been using and slathering on all summer is a no-no this season. A heavy cream made with ceramides. Ceramides are the essential and healthy fatty acids that occur naturally in the skin but need to be replenished during the colder months.

2. Add a body lotion
When summer humidity ends, the skin may start to feel dry and itchy, as there is much less moisture in the air to help hydrate. Moisturizers provide a protective barrier over the skin, allowing it to retain hydration and draw in hydration to the outer skin layer.

3. Start Exfoliating
BUT TAKE NOTE: Exfoliate when you only need it. Over-exfoliation can create tiny cracks in the skin barrier that lead to more loss of hydration and inflammation, and we don’t want this one.

Inflamed, irritated, itchy, or uncomfortable. These are red flags. Better take note of it. However, the discoloration brought on by the summer sun should also be addressed, right? So, it’s better to leave exfoliation to an expert so it could be controlled and properly addressed. I have chemical peels here for you, we could also analyze your skin and customize a facial specifically for you.

4. Remember to Use SPF
Don’t you dare! You can’t get away with this! It’s definitely wise to reapply and slather on more product during the summer months, but proper sun protection is a yearlong deal.

The change you might be experiencing could be choosing something a bit more lightweight since you’ll be rotating heavier moisturizers and other formulas into your regimen. But regardless, make sure you don’t skimp on that SPF number!

5. Book a Facial

Our skin goes through a cycle of shedding and renewal. The cycle happens every 28 days and it’s aggravated more by seasonal changes. Aside from a complete reset in your skin, booking a facial with an expert can also provide some personalized insights on how to deal with the issues you have as the temperature drops.

Now I am at this point, I am offering chemical peels that will remedy the issues you dealt with during summer! I have my new SKIN RENEWAL PEEL.

Our Skin renewal peeling is a deep, reliable exfoliation of the skin with no destruction of the skin cells. It helps the rapid removal of several of the top dead cells layers and unlike many peeling treatments, it does not remove even one layer of the epidermis. Only a part of the dead, horny surface skin cells is exfoliated in a thin crusty layer.

Other treatments, may remove entire dead cell layers and go beyond into the living cell layers which can be affected and destroyed. Each of our peeling treatments in fact restores the skin, stimulating regrowth and the basal cells. Many skin layers are rejuvenated and thickened by the reaction triggered off by the deep peeling.

If you like to book this peel or just get to know it, even more, message me directly here, and I will be with you shortly! Check out other peels and treatments here.

Would you like to talk? I’m here,

Mary
